(Infocast News) US stocks rose on Wednesday as traders took in strong earnings results to bounce back from a sell-off in the chip sector in the previous session.
The DJIA rose 337.28 points or 0.79%, to 43,077.70.
The S&P 500 rose 27.21 points or 0.47%, to 5,842.47.
The Nasdaq Composite rose 51.49 points or 0.28%, to 18,367.08.
Share performance was mixed in major European markets.
The FTSE 100 rose 79.79 points or 0.97%, to 8,329.07.
The German DAX fell 53.38 points or 0.27%, to 19,432.81.
The French CAC 40 fell 29.97 points or 0.4%, to 7,492.00.
